Working definition

A wireflow combines screen wireframes with transition arrows in one document, showing both what appears and how navigation works.

When I prefer it over isolated wireframes

  • Flows with branches (errors, permissions, empty states).
  • Dev handoff where screen order matters.
  • Fast alignment with stakeholders without high-fidelity UI.

Limit

It does not replace interactive prototypes when validating micro-interactions or timing.
